50% Dearness Allowance (DA) expected w.e.f 1st January 2011

50% DA is expected with effect from 1st January 2011. It will increase some allowances for employees upto 25%.

These allowances will not cover HRA, TA, etc, but include SCA, Children Education Allowance, cash handling allowance, split duty allowance, washing allowance etc.

The next increase in DA is due on January 2011 taking into account the inflation costs from July to December 2010. Actual effect will be in the salary of April 2011 only.

The present DA rate is 45% which may increase up to 50%.
