GUWAHATI: Union secretary and chairperson of Postal Services Board,
PadminiGopinath, is on a two-day visit to the Northeast Postal Circle to
review modernization and development activities in the NE circle,
particularly the MeghalayaDivision. Gopinath visited the headquarters of
NE circle at Shillong on Friday and Saturday.
Officials here said the department of post is moving towards
computerizing and modernizing postal services to provide better
facilities to customers. The NE circle will get core bank solutions
implemented in its post offices, officials said.
Postmaster general, northeastern region, P K Swain, is working towards
smooth implementation of the scheme in Meghalaya and other states in the
Northeast Postal Circle.
